This is the privacy notice for oddments.net. It explains what data Oddments collects, why, and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Oddments is an editorial project operated as a sole undertaking in the United Kingdom. For data-protection purposes, the data controller can be reached at hello@oddments.net.
What we collect on this site
This site is currently a holding page ahead of the full publication launch. We collect no personal data from visitors to oddments.net at present. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no cookies, and no embedded third-party content that profiles visitors.
Standard server-side request logs (IP address, user-agent string, timestamp, requested URL) may be retained by our hosting provider for up to 30 days for security and abuse-detection purposes, under that provider's own privacy terms.
What we collect on our Pinterest publications
Oddments operates three Pinterest publications: Oddments Audio, Oddments Computing, and Oddments Cameras. When you interact with content on Pinterest, Pinterest itself collects data about you under Pinterest's own privacy policy. We have no control over and are not responsible for Pinterest's data practices.
Pinterest provides Oddments with aggregate analytics about the performance of our pins, including impression counts, save counts, and outbound click totals. This data is not personally identifying to us.
What we collect when you click an affiliate link
When you click an affiliate link in an Oddments pin or on this site and visit the destination retailer, the retailer (and any affiliate network in between) may set cookies on your device to track whether your visit results in a purchase. This is how commission attribution works.
The retailer's and affiliate network's cookies are governed by their respective privacy policies. Oddments receives only aggregate commission reports, not individual buyer identities.
If you email us
If you contact Oddments at hello@oddments.net, we will retain your email address and the contents of your message for as long as is necessary to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the correspondence. We will not pass your details to any third party.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you (subject access).
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete data we hold about you.
- Object to processing.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.
